Naturopathic Medicine: A New York State of Mind

In my Staten Island hometown, I was not exposed to natural medicine while growing up. In fact, well into my early adulthood, my medical beliefs remained
very conventional. As an aspiring medical school student in my early twenties, I even decided to do research at the National Institutes of Health – the hub of conventional medical thinking. At the time, I had a friend who unexpectedly began to develop chronic health problems. She found herself leaning to one side when she walked and having difficulty with her eyesight. Within two months after these symptoms surfaced, Jillian was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
